Do you think if Ron Paul really cared as much as he says then he'd just run as an independent?

If he cares as much as he says he does and is as passionate as he says he is then why not just run as an independent? And after the past few elections, I dont think anyone can say that it would be impossible to win. It's obvious that it seems the Republican party is not going to give him a chance, which is odd because after 2010 I really thought he was going to be the candidate.
