I am not Filipino, but is it okay if I have a debut too?

I mean it is a Filipino tradition, and I just wanted to know if it would be strange if I also had one, because I want to celebrate my 18th birthday. I'm Peruvian, and idk maybe I shouldn't call it a debut? I don't know, help please lol
